What Is Japanese Kickboxing? Easily Explained For Beginners

Kickboxing is a term that has two meanings. First, it stands for a group of arts that mix kicks and punches together like Muay Thai and Sanda. And, it is also a combat sport on its own created in the 1950s in Japan.

Japanese kickboxing is a hybrid version of karate with full-contact rules, which is based on a mix of Kyokushin karate and Muay Thai rules put into one style of fighting. The founders of this style were Tatsuo Yamada and boxing promoter Osamu Noguchi, who first named their style “Kickboxing.”

1Point fighting is a fighting discipline where two kickboxers fight with the primary goal of scoring defined points, using well controlled legal techniques with speed, agility, balance and focus. The main characteristic of fight in point fighting discipline is delivery, well controlled technique and speed.
2in light contact, competitors fight continuously until the Central referee command STOP or BREAK. They use techniques similar to ring sports, but these techniques must be executed well controlled. Equal emphasis must be placed on both punching and kicking techniques.
3In Kick light competitors fight continuously until Central referee command STOP or BREAK. They use techniques from low kick discipline, but these techniques must be well controlled when they land on legal targets. Equal emphasis must be placed on both punching and kicking techniques.
4So, What is Full Contact kickboxing? Probably the quickest way to describe it is a very similar style to western boxing, yet with kicks of course. All strikes are above the waist except sweeps which can only contact the foot.
5Low kick ,Strikes are allowed to the front and side of the head and to the front and side of the torso. Strikes (kicks) are also allowed to opponent's leg (thigh below the waist and above the knee from outside, inside and on the back). Sweeping technique is also allowed.
6K-1 is a fighting format that combines the most skilful and effective elements of all martial arts even if the "K" in its name refers to just three of them - karate, kick boxing and kung-fu. The "1" denotes the best, the absolute
